Incoming orientation: guidance on choosing degree courses

Incoming orientation activities are dedicated to students who are thinking of enrolling at the University of Parma and aim to support them in their choice of university path.

Incoming orientation is carried out through meetings with students and professors from secondary schools, through presentations of curricula at schools or at a distance, through visits to Department facilities and individual meetings.

Orientation activities also involve participation in specific events organized by the University such as OPEN Days, master's OPEN Days and INFO Days in addition to events planned by the Department, second-cycle degree courses, educational institutions and local authorities dedicated to the promotion of scientific and technological culture.

Another way in which orientation is carried out at the entry level is through the testimonies of those who have already finished their curricula in the field of engineering, and who wish to share their experience with those who are approaching that world.

An orientation and information tool has been developed as part of the national project INGEGNERIA.POT for those interested in approaching engineering studies. On the project's website ORIZZONTE INGEGNERIA there is an evolving guide to promote a better understanding of the figure of the engineer, its general characters and profiles; several testimonials from graduates in the various fields and sectors of engineering have also been collected.

Secondary school students are also welcomed to conduct summer internships and PCTO pathways.

The incoming orientation activities for first-cycle degree courses pertaining to the Department are coordinated by the respective delegates:

The orientation activities at the second-cycle degree courses pertaining to the Department are coordinated by the respective delegates whose list can be consulted at the University page under Department of Engineering and Architecture.

The DIA participates in the Festival of Technical Culture 2023
