Important information for undergraduates

THE APPLICATION FOR GRADUATION DOES NOT HAVE TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE STUDENT REGISTRY OFFICE.
THE PROCEDURE IS ONLINE ONLY.
It WILL BE THE STUDENT REGISTRY'S CARE TO CONTACT THE GRADUATE ONLY IF PROCEDURAL PROBLEMS ARE ENTERED.
GRADUATION FEES ARE TO BE PAID BY THE DEADLINE (at least 30 days before) OF THE GRADUATION APPLICATION.

The procedure for applying for a degree is entirely online and can be accessed from your personal area of Esse3 by clicking on the menu item "Degree\Final Examination>Degree Attainment" (on the right of the screen). This will take you to the "Degree Attainment Notice Board" screen, where you can begin filling out the "Application for Degree Attainment."

- 4 MONTHS prior to the date set for graduation:

(ONLY FOR GRADUATES ENROLLED IN THE MAYOR OR SPECIALISTS - AREA OF ENGINEERING), each student should email to the student registry office segreteria.ingarc@unipr.it the "Dissertation Topic Presentation" form, specifying in the subject line: Dissertation Topic Presentation_second-cycle degree course_surname and name.

A new telematic procedure for the submission of the application and filing of the Thesis has been implemented on the Esse3 management program: https://www.unipr.it/domanda-di-laurea


  • 30 DAYS prior to the date set for the graduation exam:

Title Attainment PROCEDURE IS EXCLUSIVELY ONLINE

Mandatorily upload as an attachment (in PDF format) the Declaration of Admission to Final Examination signed by the supervisor. The upload should be done within the Restricted Area > Graduate/Final Examination > Achieving Title

The online graduation application must be submitted again at least 30 days before the chosen graduation session. The €16 stamp duty payment for the diploma parchment will remain valid.

.If a candidate realizes that they will not be able to graduate on the date of the graduation session for which they have registered (e.g., they have not passed all required exams), they must notify this by email to segreteria.ingarc@unipr.it at least 10 days before the graduation date, attaching a copy of a valid identity document.

For renewal of the application in subsequent sessions, students will therefore only be required to pay the €16 graduation application fee, payable via PagoPA (either online or by printing the payment notice).

Students are advised to check the exams they have passed through their personal online page.

10 DAYS before the scheduled graduation date, the student must:

  1. Have passed all required exams, including the foreign language proficiency test, or have obtained all the CFUs required by their study plan.
  2. Return the paper University booklet (if in possession). It must be sent by registered mail with return receipt to:

  1. Submit the final thesis and related attachments according to the instructions provided on the University website:
    https://www.unipr.it/domanda-di-laurea

The final, non-editable version of the thesis (in PDF/A format) must be uploaded for approval by the Supervisor.
The upload must be completed through the Reserved Area > Degree/Final Examination > Degree Award, using the button “Proceed with the thesis completion process.”
The file must be in PDF/A format and must not exceed 21 MB.

Operational notes:

  • Upload the final thesis only after all required attachments have been uploaded.
  • After selecting “Confirm final thesis,” it will no longer be possible to replace the uploaded PDF files.
  • Failure to upload the thesis will result in exclusion from the graduation discussion.
  • Theses must be submitted exclusively according to the above procedure.

No extensions will be granted for the above deadlines, except in extraordinary circumstances evaluated by the President of the Degree Programme Council.

  1. It is mandatory to upload a short abstract of the thesis as an attachment (in PDF format).
    The upload must be completed in the Reserved Area > Degree/Final Examination > Degree Award: THESIS ATTACHMENTS MANAGEMENT. Click “Add new attachment” to upload the abstract, which must not exceed two pages (or one double-sided page).
    The header of the abstract must include, in as little space as possible, all the information shown on the thesis title page.

N.B.SUBSCRIPTION of receipts for payment of the diploma and tuition fee is NOT REQUIRED

If the student does not graduate on the booked date he/she is required to notify by e-mail to student registry office,at least 10 days before the graduation date, attaching an ID.

The online application should be made again always 30 days before the chosen appeal and the payment of the stamp related to the diploma amounting to 16 euros will still be considered valid.

For the renewal of the application in subsequent sessions, it will then be necessary to pay only the amount of the 16-euro tuition fee payable through PagoPA (in online mode or print payment notice).

The student is advised to make a check of the exams taken from the personal online page.

  • 10 DAYS before the date set for the graduate exam, the student should:

1) Have taken all the profit exams including the foreign language proficiency test or have acquired the CFUs stipulated in the program of study;

2)Return the paper University transcript, if possessed, this should be sent by registered mail with return receipt to University of Parma

3) Compulsorily upload a short summary of the thesis/work as an attachment (in PDF format).
Upload should be done within the Restricted Area > Graduation/Final Examination > Title Attainment: THESIS ALLEGATION MANAGEMENT, click 'Add New Attachment' to enter the summary of at most two pages or one double-sided page. The header of the abstract should include, in as little space as possible, all the data on the title page of the thesis;

 

Notice for the Student Representatives

It is important to note that graduating students who are recovering the role of Student Representatives on Department Bodies (such as Department Council and Commissione paritetica Docenti Stuednti ) and on the CDS (such as Department Course Council and Review Group) should be aware of the following:

Graduates who occupy positions in the aforementioned departmental bodies and the Departmental Course Council and Review Group (DIA-CDS) are required to promptly notify the Department of their imminent graduation, indicating the date of graduation, by email. This notification must also indicate the consequent disqualification from the role. The email address for this purpose is protocollodipingegneriaarchitettura@unipr.it. It is important to note that on 14 April 2021, it will be necessary to inform one's supervisor that they have held a role in University bodies that requires a special mention in the Degree Office for the service provided in support of the functioning of those bodies, with notation in the diploma supplement.

DSPACE Platform

Please note that the thesis deposit is only available to students pursuing a Master's degree. The U.O. Science and Technology Libraries facilitate thesis deposit on the DSpace platform. In addition to depositing the dissertation on ESSE3, which is mandatory from the December 2022 graduation session, in accordance with the supervising professor's guidance, master's degree students at DIA may also opt to deposit their dissertation in the institutional repository DSpaceUnipr for open access online consultation.
