Marina Santise is a Product Engineer at Leica Geosystems Heerbrugg in the UAV team of Reality Capture as Photogrammetric Expert.
She obtained her PhD in Civil Engineering (Curriculum Geomatics) in 2016 at the University of Parma with a thesis entitled “UAS photogrammetric blocks: accuracy, georeferencing and control". that was awarded the Best PhD Thesis prise 2016 from the Italian Society of Geomatics (AUTeC).
Her main interests are photogrammetric monitoring techniques and UAV surveys. After defending her thesis, in late 2016 she got a research grant at University of Parma on “Innovative techniques for very large-scale cartography production”.
In 2017-18 she has been for two years with the Centre of Excellence for Geotechnical Science and Engineering of the University of Newcastle (AU) as Postdoctoral Researcher on an ARC linkage project “A new framework for a cost-effectiveness geo-hazard assessment”, on a photogrammetric monitoring system for geotechnical applications.
