Andrea Maranzoni

Andrea Maranzoni received the PhD from the Doctoral School in Civil Engineering of the University of Parma on March 2004. His dissertation focused on mathematical and physical modelling of unsteady free surface flows.
After his PhD, he was Research Assistant at the University of Parma, and Assistant Professor at the University of Brescia (from 2005 to 2008) and at the University of Parma (from 2009 to 2018).
Andrea is currently Associate Professor of Hydraulics at the University of Parma. He is involved in the project: “RELAID – Functional REhabilitation of LArge Italian Dams”, funded by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research as a research project of relevant national interest.
His main research interests include numerical and physical modelling of unsteady free surface flows; assessment of flood hazard due to levee breach or dam-break; mathematical modelling of mixed flows; analysis of seismic-induced flow motions; analysis of the performance of side weirs.
