Elena Romeo

Elena Romeo is Assistant Professor at the University of Parma  - Department of Engineering and Architecture, since December 2015. She earned the doctoral degree in 2008 at both University of Parma, under the supervision of Prof. Antonio Montepara and University of Florida, under the supervision of Prof. Reynaldo Roque.
She is Member of the Board of Faculty of PhD Program in Civil Engineering at University of Parma.
Her main research topics are: Theoretical-experimental study for the identification of models for interpreting initiation and propagation of fractures in asphalt mixtures; Investigation on asphalt binder–filler physio-chemical interaction in mastics, interstitial component and asphalt mixtures; Optical full –field Strain Measurement System for Asphalt Mixtures; Mechanical performance of asphalt mixtures containing high percentages of Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP).
She earned different honor and prizes as: Walter J. Emmons  from Association of Asphalt Paving Technologists (AAPT), Graduate Scholarship from Association of Asphalt Paving Technologists (AAPT), Certificate of Academic Achievement from University of Florida International Center (UFIC).
She is associate Editor of the Journal of Testing and Evaluation (ISSN: 0090-3973 ASTM International) and takes part of the editorial Board of Road Materials and Pavement Design (RMPD) (ISSN: 1468-0629 Hermes Science Publications).
She is guest editor  of the “Special Issue ISAP 2018” for the International Journal of Road Materials and Pavement Design (RMPD) (ISSN: 1468-0629 Hermes Science Publications, France) and Journal of Testing and Evaluation (ISSN: 0090-3973 ASTM International (USA)).
She teaches “Management and Design of Road Infrastructures” at the University of Parma and is tutor of 4 PhD students.
She is author of 36 indexed papers.
